Inspired by Darwin’s theory of adaptive evolution, and presented in a traditional, specimen study collection, this piece is an exhibition of the power of natural selection in shaping biological diversity.

This collection showcases the remarkable diversity of colours and patterns decorating the elytra of related Jewel Beetles. The stunning variety observed across species reflects the diverse ecological niches they occupy and the selective pressures they face. While some beetles exhibit vibrant hues and intricate designs that aid in camouflage within their habitats, others flaunt bold colours as warnings to potential predators or as signals for mate recognition and sexual selection.

Meticulously crafted with expert precision, these Jewel Beetles have been designed and assembled by our expert team and elegantly mounted in a museum quality deep box frame.
