Size: 10 –12 metres in length
    Range: North Africa
Habitat: Open forest, grassy plains and coastal swamps

Carcharodontosaurus is one of the largest carnivorous dinosaurs known. The full animal could reach lengths of at least 12.5 metres - comparable to the T. Rex. However, what really sets Carcharodontosaurus apart from other theropods was their huge, serrated teeth. In fact, they are named Carcharodon after the scientific name for several types of shark - of which the great white shark is the only living example. Despite its massive size, Carcharodontosaurus was believed to be an extremely fast runner, reaching a top speed of about 20 miles per hour.
